Welcome to Fort Tryon Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Spring has arrived, and with it the promise of warmer weather and longer days. Spring is such an exciting time at Fort Tryon. In just a few weeks, we will be enjoying our weekly barbeques on the terrace, which is open to families and friends, outings to nearby Fort Tryon Park, and our “senior prom”.
At Fort Tryon, our single mission is to go above and beyond in providing the best care possible for each of our individual residents.
The care residents have come to expect begins even before their arrival here. With our 24/7/365 online admissions process, we’ve cut down the time it takes to welcome a new resident from days, to just hours.
Our therapy services have been expanded to cover more conditions, including an all-new respiratory therapy program. Our therapists have many years of experience, and thoroughly enjoy working with our residents, providing them the very best care with love and attention.
The wonderful, caring staff make sure that each resident is receiving the highest level of dignity and quality of care at all times. Even after residents are discharged from our center, many choose to continue to be visited by our caregivers through our Home Care program. Our affiliated Adult Day Care program is also very popular with former residents.
Besides being here for our residents, Fort Tryon Center is deeply involved in our Washington Heights community. Local meetings, polling station, school visits, and police precinct meetings are just a few of the things we do for our friendly neighbors. The Latino flavor of the local community is well represented in both our residents and staff, and we make everyone feel at home with ethnic foods, Spanish-speaking staff, and much more.
Recent federal guidelines have placed great emphasis on preventing rehospitalizations, and Fort Tryon is fully committed to ensuring our residents receive the proper care and attention to avoid this unpleasant experience from ever happening.
I am honored and privileged to be part of the Fort Tryon family. We have been serving the community for many years now, and we show no signs of slowing down.
The dedication of our staff and their commitment to our residents, in conjunction with their families’ involvement, truly makes Fort Tryon Center a health care center that meets the highest standards of resident care and customer satisfaction in the industry.
